The community building part sounds good, so I'm open to starting one if it's easy. Though, judging from download numbers I doubt there's a big enough community, so the likely outcome of a community building exercise would be languishing infrastructure ;)
I'm not familiar with Discord (did hear nice things about it), but I usually prefer to have public conversations about FOSS software in public instead of behind some registration wall, so I'm usually weary of using things like Slack or Discord. Gitter, IRC with logging, etc., totally fine. Does Discord offer something particularly good?
It would be nice, yes, unfortunately that requires a lot of time, time I don't have. Someone has to volunteer to do the work. In the mean time, familiarizing yourself with FFmpeg itself by reading the headers of `libav*` would help a lot. You would have to prepare to read the code of this crate, at least for the low level FFmpeg functions they are using.
I guess I can leave this open as help wanted.
